3 Readings I would choose for my Wedding:
1. Genesis 2:18-24 2. 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:8 3. Mark 10:6-9 I would choose Genesis 2:18-24 as my first reading because it shows how God meant for man and woman to end up together. I like this reading because it says that from the beginning, the bride and groom were made to be with each other. This reading is fitting because it shows the simplicity of love and how it was God's plan for the two to get married. I would choose 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:8 as my second reading because it goes into depth on the importance of love. This reading says that you can have everything, but without love, it is pointless. This is a perfect reading for a wedding because it tells the couple that is about to give themselves to each other for the rest of their lives to put their love first, because it is what truly matters. I would choose Mark 10:6-9 as my Gospel reading because it shows what marriage does to a couple. They are no longer man and woman, or boyfriend and girlfriend, they are one person united under God. This reading perfectly describes the love needed to be able to commit yourself to one person for the rest of your life. This shows the true meaning of a wedding, the marriage that comes after it. |
